Travelling Turtle was born from a magical trip to Lord Howe Island with my husband, where we spent days exploring crystal-clear waters, gliding alongside turtles from a glass-bottom boat and snorkelling among coral reefs. That memory of gentle movement and wonder stayed with me, and I knew I had to capture it in paint.

Originally, this piece began with more natural tones, but my heart pulled me back the next day to fill it with bright, joyful colours. Because for me, turtles aren’t just serene travellers of the sea, they embody happiness, freedom, and the pure delight of being alive.
