Penny is an Australian Spotted Pardalote, is such a beautiful little bird. They have such lovely yellowy-orangey feathers, with little spots on their wings and head. Spotted Pardalotes can be found in most parts of Australia.
The background of these Spotted Pardalote pieces are a beautiful pastel blue-green, which goes so well with the yellows and oranges in the feathers. I painted a pair of each bird because I like that they have a friend. I use thick oil paint and palette knives to create the texture, including adding it in the background of my pieces.
